Would you believe me if I said you could get paid [music] to watch Netflix movies? Well, don't because it's a scam.
And yet, when you type in ways for teens to earn money on Tik Tok, that's the first thing that comes up. Here are two
reality checks that [music] other creators will not tell you. First, if someone's telling you that you can make
five figures a month doing 15 minutes of work a day, they are lying. Even if it's true, by [music] the time those secrets
reach you, it's already too late because everyone's doing it. So, your chances of success are slim to none. [music] Two,
if you're on social media and you hear a creator boast about the fact that they earn x amount of money a month, but to
know how they did it, you have to buy their course. Just know that [music] they've earned most of their money by
selling courses, not doing any of the jobs that the courses advertise. [music] There are real ways to earn passive
income as a student. And so, in this video, I'll give you five non-scammy side hustles [music] to actually earn
income. I'll even give you free guides, steps, and testimonials from people who have actually succeeded [music] in doing
those side hustles. So, watch till the end so you don't miss out on any free resources. [music] Let's go. First,
let's start with freelancing. I'll break down what freelancing is, [music] give you real ideas to try, how to get
clients, and tell you what actually makes someone stand out coming from someone who actually hires freelancers
all the time from my YouTube [music] channel. Freelancing is about selling a skill that you're good at on your own
terms. [music] You pick your hours, your clients, your projects, and yes, you can do all of
this in your pajamas. The best part is that you're getting paid for something you already know how to do. [music] The
important part is that since you set your own hours, it will not disrupt your [music] studies. I have proof. My
Malaysian friend Ryan does copywriting and he charges about 1,200 USD [music] per project. and he's a full-time
student. Writing, designing, organizing, cleaning, whatever your skill is, someone out there needs it and will pay
you for it. Now, let's talk about ideas that you can try. [music] Example one, are you addicted to social media? If you
said no, you're lying. When we think about [music] jobs in social media, we automatically think about video editing
and being a manager for content creators. But [music] YouTubers alone need script writers, personal assistants
to handle PR and emails and [music] thumbnail designers. Did you know many commentary channels actually hire
researchers to help them research really [music] niche topics? Vloggers need cameramen and editors. I know many Tik
Tockers that post daily that would love for someone to help them come up with a content plan for each week. Maybe you
can give them a list of videos to [music] make with the appropriate trending sound that they can use. I
mean, if you're already on TikTok 24/7, you're basically doing this job, but just [music] unpaid. Feel free to
screenshot, but if you're bilingual, you can try these jobs. And [music] if you're good at writing, you can try
these jobs. If you're stuck, type this prompt into chat GBT and see what ideas [music] it gives you. I don't think
people realize how much money you can actually make with freelancing. [music] Let's do the math using this Etsy shop
as an example. Everything this shop sells on Etsy, you can easily design and sell using Printify. [music] They've
made 34,000 sales. If the average price of their product is $20, that's $920,000.
But for a students like you, something like this page might be more realistic. But [music] still, only one year on
Etsy, almost 4,000 sales. That's $57,000 USD. I'll teach you how to do all of this in the next part of the video. But
this is absolutely [music] possible, even if your design artistic skills don't surpass Stickman level. Now,
bestie, [music] you're probably thinking, "Okay, but where do I actually get hired as a [music] freelancer? Here
are the main popular platforms that you can start with." Feel free [music] to screenshot, but how do you actually get
clients? You can, of course, get clients organically by them just browsing through the platforms and finding you
there. But my friend Ryan texted me this [music] advice and he said, "If I could do things differently, I'd relentlessly
respond to job postings on marketplaces like LinkedIn and Upwork, as well as sending cold pictures to any brand I
come across online." [music] 95% of the time, you're left on red, but the 5% is what we're aiming for. So, be proactive
and reach out to potential clients and companies via DMs or emails. Listen up. I get messages and emails [music] every
single day from people wanting to work with me on my YouTube channel. and most of them do it wrong. So if you're going
to reach out to someone, please [music] do these things. Please at least follow me. In fact, I made a whole free
document containing tips to create an outstanding LinkedIn resume and portfolio. The payment is for you to
subscribe, like this video, then go to my Instagram and message me the [music] words side hustle. Basically, in one DM
or email, I should immediately know these things about you. Now, here are the disadvantages of freelancing.
[music] Because the barrier to entry is low, that makes freelancing competitive. But
then again, there are no free meals in this world. The harder you work, the more that you will earn. Ryan said,
"When I started, I was 12. I had no money for courses or membership programs. So instead, I read successful
works of high-profile copywriters. These are the people he recommends checking out, including himself, Ryan." So don't
stress when you're not an expert when you [music] first start out. Just make sure you dedicate time to improving your
skills every [music] single week. Subscribe if you're enjoying this video so far. I put in a lot of effort. I went
into detail on how you can create an outstanding [music] portfolio as a freelancer in this video here. So, make
sure you go watch that video. Now, starting your own business without going broke. I'll [music] tell you the
realistic pros and cons, the smartest way to begin, the tools you actually need, and the [music] mistakes that I
made so you won't make them as well. And yes, I've got some free resources for [music] you. So stay tuned to get it.
When I was 17, I started a phone case business. And guess what? I didn't sell [music] out because most people don't.
The reason why you think everyone does is because the [music] only people that post about it online are the ones who
do. Most teens and [music] students do not have the budget or the space to deal with inventory. If I could do it all
over again, I would start with something less [music] risky like a print on demand platform. And one example of that
is Printify. Using a print on demand platform is [music] really popular for a reason. It's because it's one of the
easiest, loweffort ways to earn money as a side hustle. I mentioned it briefly just now, but [music] here's how it
works. Your product is only made after someone places an order. So, let's take Printify as an example. Once [music] you
upload your design, it gets sent to one of their shipping partners. Then only after someone makes a purchase, they'll
print, [music] pack, and ship off the product to your customer. Creating an account is free. You don't need any
startup capital. And unless you want to sell something handmade, [music] I highly doubt that you can't find what
you want to sell on these platforms because Printify alone has over 1,500 [music]
products. Just upload your design, connect it to Etsy, Shopify, or Tik Tok shop, [music] and then you're in
business. There are many tutorials on how to do this online, so I'll link a few down below. [music] I'll tell you
what you can use to design your products in a little bit, but I have a Korean sister-in-law [music] that runs a
successful Korean sauce company. So, trust when I say printing, packing, and shipping is a nightmare. So, that's why
if you're a busy student, I highly recommend print on demand platforms [music] because then you can actually
focus on studying and you're not stuck at 2 a.m. trying to ship packages. If you're actually serious, I went and
checked. [music] You can actually sign up to something called Printify Premium and you'll spend $29 a month, but you'll
get $20 off everything. So, that's additional profit. I've linked [music] the website down below. Go and explore.
Now, here are the free tools that you need to launch your business. First, Canva. [music] I use Canva for a lot of
the animations that you see in my videos and also for the text in my thumbnails. [music]
It's perfect for designing product mockups, Instagram posts, and business cards. You name it, they [music] have
it. Two, Procreate. All those videos of people drawing on their iPads. 90% of the [music] time it's this app called
Procreate. I know because I use Procreate for all my handdrawn animations and also for all my
thumbnails. It's $13, but it's the [music] best $13 you'll ever spend. Three, ChatVT. Ask it to guide you in
writing product descriptions, SEO keywords, [music] brand names, social media captions, and so much more. I know
that this is all really overwhelming. So, to help you out, in that free document I mentioned previously, I've
also included a free guide that you can refer to if you're interested in starting [music] your own business. Just
follow these instructions to get it. Next, online tutoring. [music] People severely underestimate online
tutoring. An advertisement might play in the next few seconds. So, if you like to support this channel, please do not skip
the ad. Thank you. This is one of the most convenient ways to earn good money [music] as a student and one that I
highly recommend out of everything in this video. Now, [music] I know what some of you are thinking. FA, don't I
need perfect grades to tutor someone? Not at all. My first [music] job was tutoring 7-year-olds at a daycare. You
don't need a rocket science degree to do that. Fun fact, I actually vlogged it and it's [music] my first ever YouTube
video. You only need to teach someone a few levels below you and know how to explain things clearly. [music] Students
actually prefer learning from someone who's just a few steps ahead rather than a prodigy who doesn't understand any
beginner struggles. But how do you get students [music] and start tutoring? Warm connections are your best friend in
this scenario. This means starting with people who already know you. So tell your teachers because they often know
younger students who need help and can recommend you directly. Reach out to family and friends via WhatsApp and
WeChat and make a message that they [music] can easily forward to any students that might want tutoring.
Screenshot this and also use community groups. I used to search up groups on [music] Facebook, join them and then
promote my services there. Make sure you message the admins of the group and check if you can self-promote. Really
important, make sure [music] you ask your first students to write up testimonials about how good your
services are so that you can use them to boost your [music] prices later on. My friend Afra charges $100 per hour. Afra
isn't [music] an expert with a fancy PhD. She just helps students with Esau, IELTS, and academic writing. She started
small by posting on social media [music] platforms like Sky Kiwi and TradeMe at the time. Afra and her friend who also
does tutoring actually got [music] so much demand to the point where they started an online tutoring business that
turned over 5 million [music] a year. Next, selling your notes. Selling my notes was actually how I earned my first
$10,000 as a student. Some of you might know this. [music] Now, if tutoring feels like too much of a time commitment
and you want something that you can literally do now after finishing this video, [music] selling study guides or
your notes is a great alternative. A lot of students struggle with time management, especially during exams, and
[music] just don't have the time or energy to make their own notes. Even I buy notes in university. I've actually
talked [music] about this before briefly in a previous video. I'll link it right here. But now I'm going to explain how I
sold my notes in detail this time. I started by scanning my handwritten notes using an app called Cam [music] Scanner.
Of course, if your notes are typed out, you don't have to do this, but if you're using Cam Scanner, please pay to [music]
remove the watermark. It just looks more professional. And really important, please remember [music] to add your own
watermark to protect yourself because someone has actually taken my notes and acted like it [music] was theirs and
sold it. Then I uploaded my notes into Google Drive and set the privacy [music] settings to restricted. Then I went into
Facebook study groups and offered free tutoring in exchange for me being able to promote my notes. This is what I
talked about just now. And I even asked my teachers to tell their younger students that [music] I'm selling my
notes. I think my YouTube channel at the time had about 600 subscribers. So it was really small, but it also helped me
boost [music] my note selling business. You can also sell your notes on these platforms. Please screenshot. Every
school, university, and country sells your notes on different platforms. [music] So, make sure you check. But my
top advice is if you really want to level up, [music] turn your notes or your study material into physical books.
I mean, look at this. There are nursing [music] students doing this and even law students selling templates on Etsy. So,
you remember Printify that I mentioned [music] earlier? This is the kind of thing that you can use it for. Here you
can upload your notes, planners, and study materials. Then, they'll just print and ship it for you. Once you
[music] found your customer and they've paid, just ask for their email and you can send them the Google Drive link.
Important disclaimer, always check your school or university's policy on [music] note selling. Some don't allow it, so
please be careful. Next, social media as a side hustle and if I recommend it. It's no secret, [music] bestie, that you
can earn a lot of money doing social media, but I personally would not recommend it [music] as the first source
of income that you should pursue as a YouTuber. It might be weird for you to hear me say this, but I'm just coming
from a place of an older sister if my younger sibling wants to start. It's a really long game and the money isn't
even guaranteed. So, I got my first YouTube paycheck about 6 months after [music] starting and this is really
quick. By the way, this is a rare case. That paycheck was for 680 ringit and that was [music] 6 months of un work. In
fact, there are over 114 million YouTube channels that are active right now. But less than 1% of channels make any money.
Instagram and Tik Tok work differently. You only start getting paid a livable wage after brands [music] start noticing
you and partnering with you. So, if you need the money now, I do not recommend starting social media. In fact, use the
comment section down below to ask me any questions that you have about social media and I'll try to reply as many of
you as possible because I know that a lot of you want to start [music] social media but don't know who to ask. But I
will 100% recommend social media if you're pursuing it alongside [music] your studies and a part-time job. Do not
under any circumstance quit your education or your job to start social media. There's a reason why I post so
many mini vlogs on shorts and reals. It's because I want to show you that you can do both. You can pursue education
and pursue creativity [music] on the side. I refuse to be another creator that drops out. If you've made it this
[music] far, comment down below. I will become rich to really manifest and lock it in. [music] Please click the like
button because I really worked hard on this video. Subscribe and also turn on the notification [music] bell and set it
to all so you don't miss out on any future uploads. And I'll see you in my next video, bestie. Bye.
Let's do the math. Let's do the math. Let's do the math. I'm out of breath. I asked on Insta what outfit I should wear
for this video, and you picked blue. I wanted to wear the pink one. So, next week I'm going to ask you what I should
wear for the next video, and you're going to pick the pink one, even if you disagree, okay?
Teens can safely earn money through freelancing skills like writing or designing, starting a print-on-demand business, online tutoring, selling notes and study guides, or growing a social media channel. It's important to avoid 'get-rich-quick' schemes or paid courses promising easy money, focusing instead on genuine effort and skill development.
Teens can begin freelancing by identifying skills such as writing, designing thumbnails, or social media assistance. They should build a strong portfolio and seek clients on platforms like Upwork or LinkedIn, or by directly reaching out via email or DMs. Consistently applying and delivering quality work helps build credibility and increases earning potential.
Print-on-demand allows teens to sell custom-designed products without holding inventory, by using platforms like Printify that print items only after sales occur. Teens can create designs using tools like Canva or Procreate and link the store to Etsy or Shopify stores. This model requires no upfront investment or shipping logistics, making it ideal for beginners.
Teens can tutor students a few levels below their skill level, focusing on subjects they understand well. They can find clients by asking teachers, family, and community groups. Building trust through testimonials enables raising rates over time. Starting small and growing steadily can lead to significant income opportunities in tutoring.
Teens should scan their notes using apps like CamScanner (preferably the paid version for quality), upload them securely via Google Drive with controlled access, and promote their notes through study groups and social media. Researching local marketplaces for students and offering printed versions via print-on-demand can also increase sales.
Social media income usually takes time and consistent effort to build and is not guaranteed. Teens should maintain their studies or other jobs while growing channels, focusing on regular content creation without quitting stable income sources. Engaging authentically with followers can improve growth chances but long-term dedication is essential.
Teens should prioritize side hustles that match their skills and interests, avoid paid courses promising easy money, and focus on building professionalism and persistence. Utilizing free resources, building portfolios or testimonials, and networking strategically can enhance success. Patience and hard work are crucial to turning side gigs into real income.
