Please listen carefully to find the answer. This will help you understand English
more deeply. So, here is today's question. What time did Mina finally get up today?
The answer is mentioned in the conversation. >> [music]
>> If you find the answer, please write it in the comments section. By writing your answer in English,
>> [music] >> you can improve your English skills even more effectively.
All right. [music] Let's start the video. Are you ready?
Okay. Let's begin. Hey Mina, is that you? Sam, oh my god, it's been so long. I
know. How have you been? I've been good. A little tired today though. Oh no. Did you not sleep well? I
slept, but I couldn't wake up this morning. My alarm went off at 7:00, but I couldn't wake up at all.
>> [laughter] >> I know that feeling. Sometimes I wake up, but I don't want to get up, you
know? I just stay in bed. Exactly. I wake up, I look at the time, and I think, "No, not yet." And then I close
my eyes again. So, what time did you finally get up today? I got up at 8:30. I was almost late for
school. 8:30? That's really late. I usually wake up at 6:00 and get up right away. I don't even think about it. 6:00?
How do you wake up so early? I usually can't wake up before 7:00. I go to bed early. If I sleep early, I can wake up
early. It's simple. That's true. I should try that. I need to wake up earlier and get up faster. Every morning
I tell myself, "Tomorrow I will get up early." But I never do. Yeah, the trick is, once you wake up, just get up. Don't
think about it. Don't look at your phone. Just get up. >> [laughter]
>> Easier said than done, Sam. But you're right. I don't like it when I can't wake up on time. And then when I finally get
up, I feel stressed all morning. I understand. But if you wake up early and get up right away, your whole day feels
better. Trust me. So, what do you do after you get up in the morning? Well, first I wash my face.
Then I put on my clothes. It takes me a while. What about you? I take a shower first. Then I put on my clothes. I
usually just put on a t-shirt and jeans. Nothing special. It takes me about 5 minutes. 5 minutes? That's so fast. I
take much more time. I put on one outfit and then I look in the mirror. Sometimes I don't like how it looks, so I take off
my clothes and put on something different. You take off your clothes and put on new
ones? How many times do you do that? Maybe two or three times. I know, it sounds like a lot. That is a lot. I just
put on the first thing I see. What about your jacket? Do you put on a jacket every day? Yes, when it's cold. I put on
a warm jacket before I go outside. But when I get to school, I take off my jacket because the classroom is warm.
Same for me. I put on a jacket in the morning and I take it off as soon as I get inside. Sometimes I forget and leave
it in the classroom. That's funny. So, after I put on my clothes, I eat breakfast and then I go
out. I try to go out by 8:00. And what time did you go out today? I went out at 8:40. Very late. I was in a hurry. I go
out at 7:30 every day. I like to walk slowly and enjoy the morning. That sounds so nice. I always go out in a
hurry. I'm always running. Maybe if you wake up earlier, you won't have to rush when you go out.
You're right. I really need to change my morning routine. So, how are your classes this semester?
Are they going well? Most of them are okay, but my history class is really hard. I can't keep up with the teacher.
You can't keep up? What do you mean? The teacher talks very fast and there is so much reading every week. I try to keep
up, but it's just too much. I fall behind every week. I see. That sounds hard. Are you behind right now? Yes, a
little. I missed two classes last week because I was sick. Now I really need to catch up. Two classes? That's a lot to
catch up on. That's a lot of notes and reading. I know. I'm trying to catch up by reading the textbook every night
before I go to sleep. That's good. You can also ask your classmates for their notes. That will help you catch up
faster. You don't have to do it alone. That's a good idea. I just want to keep up with everyone else. I don't want to
be the only one who doesn't understand. You will keep up. Just study a little every day. Don't try to catch up all at
once. That's too tiring. You're right. A little every day is better. I think I can keep up if I do that. Exactly. And
if you need help, I'm happy to study with you. We can catch up together. Thank you, Sam. That really means a lot.
Hey, are you free this weekend? Do you have any plans? I think so. I was going to meet up with my friend Yuki on
Saturday afternoon. Oh, nice. Where are you going to meet up with her? We were going to meet up at the mall near the
station. We wanted to hang out there for a few hours. Maybe go shopping. That sounds fun. What do you usually do when
you hang out with Yuki? We just hang out and talk. We look at clothes, eat something good, and just relax. Nothing
special. That's nice. I like to hang out at the park. It's free and quiet. That's so like you. But actually, Yuki
might call off our plans. She might call off your plans? Why? She said she might have to work on Saturday. If her boss
asks her to come in, she'll have to call off our plans. Oh, that's too bad. I hope she doesn't have to call it off.
Me, too. But if she does call it off, I'll have nothing to do all day. Well, if she calls off your plans, we should
meet up. We can hang out somewhere together. Really? That would be great. I'll let you know as soon as I hear from
her. Sounds good. I hope we can meet up this weekend. Me, too. I really want to hang out with someone. Staying home
alone on a weekend is so boring. I always feel better when I hang out with friends. Same here. Hanging out with
friends makes me happy. Okay, just let me know if Yuki calls it off and we'll meet up for sure.
You said you were almost late this morning, right? What happened? Oh, it was terrible. I ran to the bus stop as
fast as I could, but the bus didn't come. It broke down. The bus broke down? Seriously? That's so unlucky. Yes, it
broke down somewhere on the road, so everyone had to wait for the next bus. That's terrible. How long did you wait?
About 20 minutes. And while I was standing there waiting, I ran into my old classmate Tom. Do you remember him?
You ran into Tom? Yeah, I remember him. Tall guy, right? That's a funny surprise. Yeah, that's him. I didn't
expect to run into anyone I know at the bus stop. He was waiting for the same bus. Well, at least you had someone to
talk to. But did you miss your class? Yes, I missed the first 30 minutes. The teacher was explaining something really
important and I missed the whole thing. Oh no, you missed the whole explanation? That's really bad, especially before
exams. I know. I really didn't want to miss anything, but the bus broke down, so there was nothing I could do. Yeah,
when something breaks down like that, you just have to wait. It's not your fault. Thanks, Sam. It was just a really
bad morning. I had trouble with the bus and I missed an important class. I'm sorry about that. But hey, at least you
ran into Tom. That's one good thing from this morning, right? That's true. Running into Tom was the
only good part of my morning. Everything else was a mess. But you know, sometimes you have problems and you just have to
deal with them. That's a good way to think about it. You had bad luck today, but tomorrow will be better.
So, what are you going to do about the class you missed this morning? I'm not sure yet. First, I need to
figure out what the teacher talked about. Can you ask a classmate? Maybe they can
help you understand the main points of the lesson. Yeah, I think I'll do that. I also need
to check the homework. I have no idea what we need to do for next week. Don't worry too much. I'm sure it will
work out. You're smart and you always find a way. You think it will work out? I hope so. I
really hope everything works out before the exam. It will work out, trust me. And about
the bus problem, why don't you try a different way to get to school? A different way? Like try taking the
train? Yeah, exactly. Try the train. The station is pretty close to your house,
right? It is, actually. I never tried the train to school because I thought it was more expensive, but maybe I should
try it and see. Right. Just try it once and see how it goes. If it works out, you can use it
every day. That's true. I'll look at the train schedule tonight and plan my route. Good
idea. I'm sure you'll figure it out quickly. The train app makes it really easy. Thanks, Sam. I feel so much better
now. I really think things will work out. Of course they will. And remember, if you ever need help, I can always help
you figure things out. You're the best, Sam. Really. Well, I have to go to my next class
soon. Me, too. But this was really nice. I'm so glad I ran into you today. Same here. It was great talking to you again.
We should come back to this cafe. I really like this place. Yes, I love this cafe. The coffee is so good. Let's come
back next week. Sounds great. I'll come back on Tuesday afternoon. Does Tuesday work for you? Tuesday is perfect. I
don't have any classes in the afternoon. I'll come back here at the same time. Great. So, I'll see you later, Mina. See
you later, Sam. Oh wait, don't forget. We might also meet up this weekend, remember? Oh, that's right. Let me know
about Yuki's plans. If she calls it off, we'll hang out together on Saturday. I will text you as soon as I know. Take
care, Sam. Take care, Mina. And hey, try to wake up a little earlier tomorrow, okay?
I'll try my best. I'll wake up at 7:00 and get up right away. No more staying in bed. Good. And put on your clothes
quickly. Don't take them off and put on new ones three times. I'll try, but I can't make any promises.
Take care. Take care. See you later. And remember, everything will work out. I know it
will. See you later, Sam. How was it? I hope this video helped you improve
your English. Now, let me ask the question from the beginning [music] one more time.

The video highlights phrasal verbs like "wake up," "get up," and "go out" as essential for describing daily activities. For example, "wake up" means to stop sleeping, while "get up" refers to physically leaving the bed. Practicing these helps learners sound more natural when discussing mornings.
Following Sam's advice, try to get up immediately after waking up instead of lingering in bed. Setting consistent alarm times and preparing the night before for weather conditions by layering jackets can make mornings smoother and reduce the chance of being late.
Sam recommends reviewing textbooks gradually each night and borrowing notes from classmates instead of cramming last minute. Consistent study habits help manage difficult subjects and make catching up after illness more manageable.
Mina discusses uncertainty about meeting a friend due to work commitments, showing natural conversational phrases. Sam offers alternative plans, emphasizing maintaining social connections. This conversation models casual English used when arranging or adjusting social activities.
Sam suggests considering alternative transportation methods, such as trains, to avoid future delays. Checking train schedules and using transit apps can help plan better and reduce risks of missing important commitments.
The video uses slow and clear narration, relatable dialogues, comprehension questions, and invites viewers to practice writing answers. These strategies improve active listening, understanding of phrasal verbs, and encourage language output for better fluency.
