- Selecting the right objective helps Google optimize who sees your ads to maximize desired actions.
Available Campaign Objectives
- Sales: Target users more likely to complete purchases.
- Leads: Focus on users likely to submit contact information.
- Website Traffic: Drive visitors to your site regardless of conversion.
- App Promotion: Encourage users to install your mobile app.
- Awareness and Consideration: Increase brand visibility and reach.
- Local Store Visits and Promotions: Promote physical store visits.
- Create without an objective: For custom campaign setups.

Hello everyone, I am Amit Tiwari from amittiwari.net and this is the fourth part of our Google Ads series. In the previous three videos, we talked about the ad rank,
keyword match types and account structure design of Google Ads. In today's video, we will learn how to set up Google Ads
account. And the first step of the ad making process is to select the right type of campaign objective so that we can make a
good campaign. Your campaign objective decides the success of your campaign.
Whether your campaign will get a good result or not, what type of audience you will get, why you will get it, all these things are decided by setting this campaign objective.
So let's go to our dashboard and see how to make a Google Ads account. But before that, a reminder that if you are watching this
video for the first time, if you have not seen the previous three videos, then I will highly recommend that before finishing this video, in fact, before starting the next
part, do watch those three videos. This entire course, this entire series has been designed in
such a way that when you watch all the previous videos, only then you will get the benefit of the upcoming videos. Otherwise, when I say a technical word, and if you don't
understand its meaning, then you will waste your time and you won't get the knowledge. What will be the benefit?
So first finish those three videos and then after that, come and start this video. So with that said, those who have already finished all
three videos, let's start this series for them. Let's go to the computer screen and start setting up the Google Ads account.
So we are on Chrome and to go to Google Ads, you will have to visit the URL ads.google.com. It is a typical Google pattern that whatever service you
have to use, you have to use its subdomain. For example, Google Mail, that is Gmail, becomes mail.google.com for you and Google Ads becomes
ads.google.com. So we have come here and first of all you have to sign in here.
We will click on the sign in button and make sure that the email ID with which you want to set up your Google Ads account, you select that email ID or you are logged in to
your browser with that email ID. Now, you can also create more than one Google Ads account with one email ID.
Or if you have connected more than one email ID on your browser, then you can also switch the email ID here. But here in this browser, only one Google account is linked.
One Google account is logged in, so we will create a Google Ads account on it. I will click on the New Google Ads Account button.
And then here we are getting some basic information. For example, I should add business information, I should create ads and I should create my ad budget.
Now, if you want, you can start making your first campaign here. But this is not our purpose right now.
We have to set up our account properly first. So we will click here on the Skip Campaign Creation button. I will click on it.
And then after this, I have to give an important information about account creation here. For example, I have to provide a billing country first.
That is, you have to select the country and time zone from which you are going to pay. Maybe it is possible that you want to run ads for your
American or European client. But if you are going to pay from your account, you will pay from your payment method, then you will select India here.
But if your client is asking you to create an account, but the payment method, payment information, and billing information will be of the client, then you will select the
time zone, billing country, and currency according to the client's country. So for example, I have not set up a VPN here yet.
So here the billing country is India selected, time zone is also selected correctly, and currency is also selected correctly.
So I click on the Continue button here. Now here you can see a small notification. Now we can see that Google sometimes applies this offer,
sometimes retracts it. If I spend Rs 20,000 on running an ad, then I will get a credit of Rs 20,000.
I have to spend Rs 20,000 within 2 months. But basically, if we look at the history, then many times this credit comes in the account of many clients.
Some people are also rejected by Google after spending Rs 20,000. And there is no special explanation for that.
So it's up to you, it's up to your luck. If you get it, it's a good thing. If you don't get it, then it's okay.
Let's go down here. Here you get the option to create a new payment profile. That is, you will add your payment method etc.
So here we will click on the Create New Payments Profile button. And here you will have to select whether you want to verify
yourself as an organization or you want to verify individually. So to understand the importance of this payment profile,
you will have to go to Google's Ads Transparency Center. Ads Transparency Center gives a normal public an option to see which organization or individual is behind the ads we
are seeing on any Google platform. How many more different companies, products, and brands is this individual promoting?
Who is this? The responsibility and responsibility of Google's Ads Transparency Center is to set this.
We come to this page where you can search for any advertiser. Let's say that you want to see how many ads Facebook.com
runs on Google. So I will search for Facebook.com here. And if Facebook.com is running an ad, then this URL or the
name of the company will be visible here. You can also search for the URL of any website or landing page here.
Or you can also search for the brand name and company name of the advertiser. So here I can see Facebook.com.
I click on it. And here you will see any time. This is not a time frame.
If you want, you can set it to 30 days, 7 days, any time. Or you can also set it to custom. You can decide which date you want to see the advertisers.
I click out. Here it is showing ads for the Indian region. If you want to see ads running on Facebook.com, Google,
then I can select anywhere. But right now India is selected. And then all format, i.e., image, ad, text, ad, video ad.
So here you can see that all the ads Facebook has run on Google.com are visible here. You can see the text of these ads.
You can see the content. You can see their graphics. These are all the ads that Facebook has run on Google at
any time. If I want to see how many ads have been run in the last 30 days, then I can select here.
And then that information will come here. So when Google takes a payment profile here, then this information helps to build this transparency center.
Which person or which organization is behind any ad is known here. So here, as I searched the landing page, Facebook.com, but
the advertiser is Meta Platforms Inc. So this information is available here. So here you have to select whether you want to register as
an individual or an organization. So here you have to keep in mind that if you register yourself as an individual, then you will not be able to
change in the future. So if you want to register yourself as an organization in the future, then you will have to prove your identity again.
Right. Now this process is only on the payment profile. But after this, you will have to give your legal
information. That is, if you are coming as an organization, then you will have to give your company's documents.
So here I select as individual for right now. And then I entered my legal name here. And then after this, I add the address.
And then after this, city, pin code. And then after this, select the state. I selected Delhi.
And then after this, I click on the create button. After this, there is an option to add the payment method here.
That is, how do you want to add your payment here. You can add a credit card or debit card. You can transfer from net banking or you can directly
transfer to the bank. For right now, I add the card here. Now after this, there is a how you pay option.
Here you can select whether you want to pay for your ads in advance. Or you want to pay after your ad runs.
Whatever method you like. If you select post pay, then post pay. That is, when your ads run, after that, on the 1st of every
month, you will get a bill generated. For which you will have to make a payment. It will be automatically detected by your payment method.
But it will be detected later. And if you want to make a manual payment, then you can set up a manual payment here.
You can add funds to your account in advance. Right now, I select post pay and click on the continue button.
And then after this, I agree to Google Ads term. I have to click on it. Here I have selected no.
And after this, I click on the submit button. Here I have selected no because most of the time, when we click on yes for the first time and give permission to the
Google Ads team, then only Google Ads helps in setting up the account. It does not help in running.
And you will know how to set up Google Ads account by the end of this video. So you don't need to select yes.
I have to verify here. That is, I have to enter the bank OTP. Now I understand that I have still selected the post pay
method. This OTP that I have to give now is only for the nominal balance of 2 rupees.
This is just a way to verify that the details you have given, whether your account is really connected or not. Now after this, your account is actually set up.
We still have to do advertiser verification where you have to provide your legal information. But the basic setup of your ad account is complete.
So we will click on the explore your account button. You can see a small alert here. Update your tax info.
Now we will finish this part now so that your account is 100% set up and ready. So we will click on the fix it button.
And here it is asking for information from me. Pan card information. I don't have a GST number.
And GST number is also optional. It is not compulsory to give GST number or TAN number. So here I just gave the information of my pan card.
And then I click on update button. Registered individual is selected here because I have selected myself individually.
So you have given the information. Now we have come to our dashboard. Now this dashboard is very complicated to see for the first
time. continue with the UI, I click here, explore the new design and in the new style, we will learn the new Google Ads of
2024. Okay, we have come to the dashboard and you can see the first menu here, which is a very broad category.
For example, whatever is going to be run in your ad account, whatever campaigns are going to be run, which you will make an ad group, which you will make ads, all the
options of all of them, you will get them after clicking on the campaign tab. The conversion of your ad, which is the measurement, you
will get related options in goals. In the tools, you get a lot of different options related to your account.
You get your data manager or troubleshooting or the bulk action automation options, all those options you see inside the tools.
After coming to the billing option, you can set up the billing details of your account. And in the admin option, you get security related features
to add new users to your account. You get options for preferences, you get options for notifications.
So, we will come to all these options one by one. Today's video's topic is not all this. Today's video's topic is to create an account and then
after this see the objectives. So, to see the objectives, we will click on the create button.
By clicking on this colorful create button, you can start making the first campaign in your Google Ads account. If you want, you can start this process by clicking on this
new campaign button. Otherwise, there is one more option, you will go to the campaign tab and on the campaign tab, you will get this new
campaign name button. So, wherever you see the plus button, click on it and select new campaign and you can start this process.
We will click on this create button first and here we will select campaign. Now, we can see the first window of options in which we are
being asked that what is the objective of our campaign. Google is giving us options here. Number 1, sales.
Number 2, leads. Number 3, website traffic.
Number 4, app promotion. Number 5, awareness and consideration. And number 5, local store visits and promotion.
This 7th option is basically the option to reject all these options. Okay. So, if you want to run such a campaign through which
you have an online sale, people call on your phone number or visit your store. Basically, at the end of the day, there should
be a sale. So, we will select this sale objective. If you want people to show interest in your product, submit
a lead form, take interest in your product, then you select this option called leads. And if you want traffic to come to our website or our
landing page, whether they convert to leads or not, whether they give their details or not, or whether they purchase the product or not, it doesn't matter to you.
You just need traffic. So, we select this website traffic objective. Now, if you want your new campaign to promote your iOS or
Android app, to encourage new people to install it, then we select this app promotion type objective. If you want to spread awareness and consideration, if you
want people to be aware of your product, to be aware of your brand, to increase your reach, then you select this awareness and consideration objective.
And if you want to promote your local business, if you want to promote your Google My Business listing, then you select local store visit and promotion.
Now, you may think that all these ads are going to be shown to the same type of audience. And there is only one person, that person will click on my
website, sometimes he will know about my brand, sometimes he will give a lead, and sometimes he can actually purchase. So, what will I get by selecting an objective here? Now,
whenever you select a particular objective, Google does two things. Number one, Google Ads has a lot of options, by removing
all those options, it presents only the necessary options for that objective in the flow of your ad creation. So, your work becomes a little easier.
And number two, your ad is shown to the same type of audience, who is interested in taking a particular action. You must have noticed, many times there are people
who come to your shop, website, store, and see a lot of items, inquire about them, but do not purchase the product or reduce it.
There are also other types of people who do not check out a lot of items after going to any store, just see a few things and immediately purchase them.
So, if we select a sale type objective, then Google tries to show ads to such people who can purchase more. If you select a lead, then your ad will be shown to such
people, who may not purchase much, but they fill the leads quickly, can give contact information quickly. Similarly, if you select a campaign objective called
Website Traffic, then Google will show your ad to such people who click on the website very quickly. Now, whether they purchase or not, it will depend on the
quality of your landing page. Similarly, if you want to promote an app, then Google will take your ad to such people through this objective, who
keep installing a lot of apps. Sometimes it happens that a lot of people want to install a very minimal app.
The apps they trust, which they use, they only use them, they do not install new apps. There are some people who keep looking for the latest and
latest apps. So, the ad promotion campaign objective helps you get to a good audience.
So, here you have to select what type of ad campaign you want to run. If you want to sell, then you have to select the sale
objective. If you want leads, then you have to select the leads objective.
And if you want website traffic, then you have to select this option. Whatever option you want, we will move forward after
selecting it. So, this was our campaign objective. Now, based on these objectives, how many types of ads can
be made, we will see in the next video because the length of this video has become too long. You will not be able to learn the whole thing at once, nor
will I be able to tell you. That's why we are dividing this whole information, this whole course into parts.
So, that's all for today's video. See you in the next video and we will see how many different types of ads can be made.
So, if you were following this video on your computer screen, then you have made your Google Ads account well, set it up properly, and apart from that, you have
understood the campaign objective well. In the next video, we will start the process of making this campaign and we will make a search ad and see how to make
good quality search ads. See you in the next video and let's finish this whole process.
Thank you so much for watching this video. My name is Amit Tiwari from AmitTiwari.net and I will see you next time.
Take care.
To create a Google Ads account, go to ads.google.com and sign in with your Google account linked to your payment method. Click 'New Google Ads Account' and skip immediate campaign creation to properly configure settings like billing country, time zone, and currency, which should reflect your or your client's location. This setup ensures your account operates smoothly without issues later.
You need to create a payment profile specifying whether you are an individual or organization, enter legal identification like a PAN card for India, and provide accurate address and contact details. Add payment methods such as credit/debit cards, net banking, or bank transfer, then verify them (usually via an OTP). You can choose prepaid or postpaid billing, and ensure tax details like PAN or GST are submitted if required.
Your campaign objective directs Google to target the right audience and influences which ad options you can use. For instance, selecting a 'Sales' objective focuses on users likely to complete purchases, while 'Website Traffic' targets visitors to your site regardless of conversion intent. Picking the right objective optimizes ad delivery to help achieve your specific marketing goals effectively.
Google Ads offers several objectives: Sales (target users ready to buy), Leads (encourage contact form submissions), Website Traffic (drive visitors without focusing on conversions), App Promotion (boost app installs), Awareness and Consideration (increase brand visibility), Local Store Visits and Promotions (drive physical store traffic), and Create without an objective for custom campaigns. Each objective tailors ad targeting and features to maximize success based on your desired outcome.
Google uses machine learning to show your ads to audience segments most likely to perform the action aligned with your objective. For example, a sales campaign targets users prone to purchasing, while website traffic campaigns prioritize users who typically click on ads. This targeted approach increases the efficiency of your ad spend and improves campaign results by focusing on the right viewers.
The next video tutorial will cover different ad types you can create based on your chosen campaign objectives, starting with how to craft effective search ads. It will provide strategies to optimize your ads for quality results, improving your campaign’s performance and return on investment (ROI). This will help you move from setup to execution confidently.
The Ads Transparency Center verifies advertiser identities and ad history, promoting accountability and trust within the Google Ads ecosystem. Understanding its role helps advertisers comply with policies and build credibility, which can positively impact ad approval and campaign effectiveness. Providing accurate legal and contact info during setup supports transparency requirements.
